10 WAYS TO PREPARE THE FIRST YEAR OF MANAGEMENT SCHOOL

Management is the first transition from Graduation to Management School for every student with vision to excel in corporate world.

To give them wings to excel in Management, Management School must do the following:

  1. Case Study Analysis: We as Management school must focus on strengthening the Decision making skills of the students through critical evaluation of the situation like case study. Decision making exercise helps students to take correct decisions in every walk of life. It helps them in strategic decisions, Tactical decision and operational decisions.
  2. Team Building Exercises: Management school must emphasize on team building exercises like Role play, Group decision, Business Simulation, office debate, Board Games, Trust building exercises. The team building exercise helps them to motivate , to develop their strength and work on their weakness.
  3. Debate, Group Discussion, Extempore: Emphasis on communication is significant in Management as Communication is the hallmark for successful manager. Management school must work on students  communication skills. It helps in active listening, Adapting communication style to audience, develop confidence, Respect for others, Clarity in speech.
  4. Presentations And Grooming Sessions: We as Management School  must emphasize on personality development and grooming sessions for the students in the campus  like make them learn from mistakes, practise self-care ( grooming) which makes Management student a unique personality and also they will be able to adapt different organized behaviour of the Corporate world.
  5. Academics and Industry Interface: Academics and industry interface must go on blended mode, try to make all Management concept clear before making them industry ready. It may involve corporate connect sessions with renowned personalities from corporate sector so that Management should understand the depth of corporate culture and able to update them with the changes in Business World.
  6. Be more interactive: Let the students explore all the feasible pursuits regarding Management career thru industrial visits and encourage them to be more interactive with people around them. Thru these visits Management students are going to develop confidence in them and able to express their views regarding the career.
  7. Help Them Follow Their passion: “Pursue what you are passionate about” allow the students to set the career for themselves so that they may select and take wise decision in selecting their   Management specialization according to their area of interest.
  8. Develop Time Management Skills: In Management time plays a very crucial role, the students of Management School must know how to manage time in pressure thru which they will be able to work well at corporate sector by assigning them event management programmes. We may ask them to organize and manage event Like MARKETING FEST thru which they will be able to practise all management skill sets.
  9. Brain Tracy States that “Time management is really personal management, life management. and management of yourself.
  10. Make them to learn dry text quickly: In Management school there are ample of study material to go thru like case study, management books, Lectures, presentations etc apart from this they are required to study other text also. So they must be in habit to read dry text quickly so that they may refer those text in class lecture.
  11. Help Them In Building Their Confidence ( Don’t Worry): It is easy to advise and difficult to follow. The students of the Management Schools must be confident in themselves. Many students  share the concern that they are feeling nervous which is normal for every student but never allow this to come in the way of success. The Management School must organize stress busting exercise once a week for the mental and physical well being of the students.
