Workforce diversity and workplace culture highly impact the productivity of an employee to a larger extent. It has both possibilities – the outcome can be sky-high or flat leaned. Workforce productivity requires the commitment between the employees in mingling up and joining hands to hands when it comes to working, workforce diversity is the inculcation of demographics as well as geographics, different generations working closely together as the baby boomers, Generation X, Generation Y, Millenials too. Isn’t it exciting to work with soo many generations who have different approaches to life and to work. But sometimes it may get cumbersome too as they have varied and rich experience and they don’t want to listen to the other’s perspective and if they try to they prefer not to pay too much heed to it . which may trouble the millennials as millennials are considered to one of the generations that “really don’t know what they exactly want”. We may take an example of our elders in our family, they have a literal opposite approach to things which the young generations may not like.
Just imagine any instance that took place in your family where different generations have a different approach to a common thing as this will really help you to understand generational diversity.
Workplace culture is also important when it comes to the formulation of business strategy, it helps in gauging a pool of talent, retention of talent which is an important task for any employer, and it affects the performance of the employees also. Here come the workplace policies which also affect the culture of an organization this may include the policies related to communication, transaction, leaves, payroll, performance management, paid time off, leaves, etc.
The major goal of keeping and engaging workforce diversity at one place is to get the maximum benefits of all the resources an organization has, as the pool of diversity helps in better decision making as different cultures have different learnings, and the better possible way of doing a task is figured and genuinely it gets in action as diverse organization believes in oneself – Human Resources.
It is a proven fact that happy and satisfied workforce results in high productivity. Even it’s a financial success when it comes to a happy workforce.
Workforce diversity brings in more ideas and it shapes workforce culture and a mix of diversity creates a happy and fun workplace which also leads to better leadership, better coordination, expertise. And it’s said that excellence and expertise are the core of an organization.
